Grammy award-winning Nigerian musician, Damini ‘Burna Boy’ Ogulu, has achieved another amazing feat with his 2019 hit song, ‘Ye’.
The track has been certified ‘Gold’ in US by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).
Burna Boy confirmed the development in a tweet via his official account on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021.
Also, a tweet from Notjustok which reported the details, said that it set a record as the fastest Nigerian song to go Gold in the United States.

The song joins the growing list of Nigerian records to be Gold certified in the US. The likes of ‘If’, and ‘Fall’, by Davido as well as ‘Come Closer’ by Wizkid have all previously achieved the massive feat.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awards certification based on the number of albums and singles sold through retail and other ancillary markets. A Gold record is a single or album that sells 500,000 units (records, tapes or compact discs).
